Project VIDA was founded in 1992 to address the urgent needs of racial and ethnic minorities. Initially, the agency provided HIV education through street outreach services to area youth. Now, Project VIDA has expanded its community scope by initiating a variety of programs: direct services for people infected or affected by HIV/AIDS and various prevention education programs.

Project VIDA offers individual and group services for adults (25 & up) living with HIV/AIDS. The program offers workshops focusing on prevention related topics for those living with HIV/AIDS to encourage healthier lifestyles. Also support groups that help reinforce coping skills, decrease psycho-social stress associated with living with HIV/AIDS. Also, there are individual (prevention/risk reduction) counseling sessions offered for a more personal one on one discussion. All services are offered in English and Spanish.

Pacific College is thrilled to be collaborating with Project VIDA to expand their existing Chinese Medicine services to patients. The shift is supervised by Andrew Gorecki, M.S., L.Ac. who has 20 years experience as a professional acupuncturist. Andrew’s specialties include the treatment of HIV/AIDS and chemical substance abuse/dependence related symptoms. He is also a Certified Addictions and Drug Counselor.
